Renovations Have Begun!

We finally closed on our new house on May 8th!! It feels great to be first-time homebuyers...still a little surreal because through most of the escrow process it didn't look like it was going to close. We bought a foreclosure, which is usually an easier process to deal with than a short sale...but the seller (B of A...ugghhh) hardly would respond to us and definitely didn't budge on a single item. But overall it was a great experience and we are so happy to now make this place our own!

Here are some before pictures of the house - it sat empty for over 3 years. So far, we have completely demoed and filled in the pool (long story, but it had to go) and scraped wallpaper and popcorn.  This weekend, we'll be doing new drywall and texture, sanding hardwood floors (yes, they are original!) and doing a very good thorough cleaning. Next after that is a brand new roof and int/ext paint and we should be moved in!

 Street View
Entry Way (tile will eventually be replaced and I love the double doors!)
 Front Family Room
 Dining Room
 Retro Kitchen!
An old sauna that was left - turned into a dollhouse for Brielle!
 VERY overgrown backyard
 Nasty dirty pool
Sad to see it go, but it would have been a money pit ;)
