We are sitting for a black lab named Ollie. He is about 6 years old, but has the energy of a young puppy. He's a well-behaved dog and has a sweet spirit (except when he gets really excited to go for a walk and uncontrollably bucks like a bronco). Zach has taken on a lot of the feeding this time around, so Ollie follows him EVERYWHERE. They are quickly becoming best friends.
So far this week, we've gotten to know the neighborhoods through our jogs and walks to the park. We have also been cooking every chance we get. Our favorite show right now is MasterChef Australia and we are inspired every night to try new things; so, we've been testing our culinary talents and so far have tried homemade pizza, homemade pasta carbonara, stuffed chicken, braised beef, and different salads and desserts. We're excited to try these new recipes on our family when we get home!
The weather here is much colder than in Queensland...usually in the 50's during the day and 40's at night. Luckily, we have an electric blanket on our bed that keeps us warm at night and we bundle up during the day. It's actually warmer to be outside during the day, so we take advantage of that and try to stay out in the sun!
Here's some pics so far from this week. We've managed to get to the golf course twice already for some putting/chipping practice. As you can see from the video, I have a ways to go on my swing. But, lucky for me, I have a pretty good coach.
